the dirty projectors

seriously.

we all know i was completely consumed with listening to the Dirty Projectors earlier in the summer and that fizzled out after 3 months of dedicated daily listening.

but i revisited them today

and HOLY SHIT.

i'd say Bitte Orca is sonic perfection. exactly what i want to hear.

and i was so blown away with the melody at first. but the harmonies are obviously the most compelling. and with explosions of sound and a perfect balance between repeating rhythm and spontaneous seeming variations... it's a delight.

you must, must, must listen to Cannibal Resource. (my favorite. the harmony!!!)

and Temecula Sunrise and Remade Horizon (the explosions of full sound... like a dream world!)

happy halloween! this year i dressed up as alfred from the board game Guess Who along with my best bud Emily as Susan. what a fantastic night dancing in these costumes.

i love these earrings. i might make a whole slew of them. they remind me of things i made as a teenager. and the colors and the repetition is really something fun. plus they're so simple to make. it's like i'm beading on my bed listening to angsty girl music all over again.
